April 2016

The Club's Youth Sailing programme talks a giant step forward with journey's start for 4 Laser Pico en route from the UK. There is all sorts of extra curricular activity with Rugby 6 Nations at the clubhouse and kite flying at Agios Georgios, and the spring sailing season is heralded in with some changes in boat ownership and various fitting out projects.

March 2016

The PISC Training programme marches on with a new course for Safety Boat Crew and a repeat of the Emergency First Aid at Work course. The Youth Sailing initative grows ever closer with generous contributions to the Youth Sailing Appeal. The club takes possession of its new Automated External Defibrillator. There are final plans for the Offshore rally to Athens and the Saronic Gulf in May, and conclusion of the inaugural Monthly Mug competition.

We learn of five members who are newly accredited CySaF Dinghy Instructors and a visit by an ISAF World Sailing representative to Agios Georgios. The Training Officer updates us on plans for a Youth Sailing programme, and there's safety in action as Safety Koula rides to the rescue of a powerboat in distress on the Akamas coast.

January 2016

We read the final report from the blog from our own representative on the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, and remember a fantastic Christmas Party at the clubhouse, and an equally memorable festive Friday lunchtime of caroling.

December 2015

An update from the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers as they ready for the off, whilst the rest of us remember a fantastic Laying Up Supper. Lots of training being planned, and lots of enhancements to the 2016 dinghy racing program. But all tempered with sadness as we remember Mimis.

Late Autumn 2015

Updates from PISC members on leg one of the Clipper Round the World Race and the feeder for the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers. Lots of news on recent training courses undertaken, and those in the pipeline. We also learn about a very well attended Trafalgar Day celebration and find out about those members whose on-water navigation skills deserted them in the car treasure hunt!

Early Autumn 2015

We report on the numerous international sailing events taken part in by PISC members, our own autumn regatta and many successful social events, including the first BBQ at our new clubhouse.

Mid Summer 2015

We report on the Yeronisos Round the Island Race and the Summer Regatta, and reflect on a fabulous summer ball at the Kamares Club. The Rear Commodore Sailing unveils a new flagpole at Agios Georgios. Powerboaters are active in Blue Lagoon and the Offshore Secretary reveals plans for club rallies in Greece and Turkey for 2016.

Early Summer 2015

Past members are remembered. We welcome two new Wayfarers for club training, and recognise a slate of newly trained dinghy sailors. A further Wayfarer joins the racing fleet in time for the newly announced Yeronisos round the island challenge race. There are exciting new plans for a rally in Greece/Turkey in 2016.

Spring 2015 update 2

Two members become Cyprus National Judges, and two more pass the HSSVOL exams. There's lots of work preparing the sailing venue for the summer season, and much social activity. Team PISC takes part in the annual regatta at Dhekalia where the ladies emerge with honours.

Spring 2015 update 1

A well attended AGM at which we welcome the new committee and thank the past Commodore. William gives us an udate on his Clipper Round the World race training, and we find out about additions to the rib sheds, fitting out of boats at Latsi, ongoing advanced training, and the results of the club's snooker competition.

Spring 2015

Official confirmation is received of PISC's membership of CySaF. We say a moving goodbye to our Geriskipou clubhouse, and make an excited move to our new clubhouse in Peyia. There are many new trained First Aiders, and we finally sail the Ian Stevenson Malt Whisky challenge cup. Terry and Christine send us news of progress with Teka Nova's refit in Thailand.

Winter 2014/15 update 2

Wayfarer legend and past world champion Ian Porter gives us some tuning tips. The Cyprus Sailing Federation honours us with a visit and makes PISC an Athletic Member. We do lots more training , two new boats arrive and much fun is had by all at the Fitting Out Supper.

New Wayfarers arrive, and all sorts of training is completed from safety boats to navigation and VHF use. The Laying Up Supper sees the end of the summer season, and we have new merchandise to savour

Summer 2014

We have a new First Aid Officer, and a host of newly trained first aiders who were thankfully not needed at our many social events. It's the end of an era as our past Commodore bows out. Much dinghy training is going on and lots of new boats arrive. Regattas galore at Dhekalia and Agios Georgios.

Spring 2014

We welcome the new committee and report on the Fitting out Supper & Black and White Ball. We now boast a team of trained assistant dinghy instructors thanks to the excellent efforts of our RYA Senior Sailing Instructor Phill Mutton and as a result have completed the first of our Dinghy Level 2 courses.
